How To Make Persimmon Bread

This persimmon bread is studded with crunchy walnuts and juicy raisins. Making them the perfect filling afternoon snacks.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 cups persimmon pulp
  • 1 cup dates chopped
  • 1 cup nuts chopped, optional
  • 1 cup chocolate chips optional but recommended

Instructions

  • Combine the sugar, flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, then whisk together.
  • Add the eggs, milk, vanilla, butter, persimmon pulp, then mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Fold in the dates, nuts, and chocolate chips.
  • If baking in a large loaf pan or bundt pan, bake at 325 degrees F for 1½ hours.
  • If using smaller loaf pans, bake at 325 degrees for about 1 hour. Check the middle of the bread with a toothpick at 50 minutes. If the toothpick comes out clean, the bread is done.
  • Slice, serve, and enjoy!
